We have signed an agreement with the State Water Holding Polish Waters for the development of design documentation for the Project entitled: "Construction of barrages on the Lega River at km 42+000 - 44+200 along with the reconstruction of the riverbank protection of the Lega River".
The Project will consist, among the others, increasing retention of Olecko Wielkie Lake by building a barrage at the outflow of the river from that Lake. The barrage will stabilize the water level during the low flows through elevating the present embankment by several dozen centimeters than the present top elevation. Thanks to that, a minimum of 567500 m3 of water will be additionally retained in the lake. The barrage structure to be constructed will ensure the hydromorphological continuity of the watercourse (the possibility of migration of living organisms, including fish – from the river to the lake and vice versa). As part of the task, the documentation will also cover renovation / reconstruction of 3 existing barrages on the Lega River in order to restore the hydromorphological continuity of the river in this section.
