From 2017 to March 2022, Energoprojekt-Warszawa SA participated in the 3rd phase of the NCBiR’s “200+ Units” programme. The project was co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund under the Operational Programme Innovative Economy.
The Polimex Mostostal consortium performed the work (with the following members Polimex Mostostal SA (consortium leader), Energoprojekt-Warszawa SA, Warsaw University of Technology, Transition Technologies SA, Polimex Energetyka Sp. z o.o., Transition Technologies — Advanced Solutions Sp. z o.o., and Transition Technologies — Control Solutions Sp. z o.o.).
The programme included the design and construction of many modifications on the reference power unit No. 4 with a capacity of 241 MWe (200 MW class) operating at Enea Elektrownia Połaniec SA, introducing innovative technologies to improve operation and exploitation and, above all, adapting the power unit to the new requirements of the NPS and extending its service life by another 15–20 years. The technologies will allow synchronisation of the power unit’s operation in the RES-based system. The ground-breaking programme for the Polish electric power industry has been successful. All the assumed parameters for improving the power unit’s operation have been achieved.
